This online training meets the knowledge requirements set out in circular AC 700-042 on Cockpit Resources Management (CRM).
Description
This unique training in Canada focuses on:
- The differences between startle and surprise
- Adverse effects on performance
- Startle and surprise triggers
- How to resist the instinct to flight or fight
- The relevance of training programs
Visiting Professor Capt. Donald D. Van Dyke, FRAeS, proposes personal and systemic strategies to avoid the pitfalls of startle and surprise, including reframing and analysis.
Completely narrated and animated by the teacher, the training emphasizes safe crew behavior when unforeseen events occur during the operation. The training takes 40 minutes including two quizzes and an online exam. It includes a an upset recovery demonstration in the A220 with Airbus Canada Chief Pilot.
